Course Outline

Develop a good understanding of BuildSmart Fixed Asset Management. This course covers key concepts and will get you up to speed with essential functions and features, including posting of depreciation and reconciling back to trial-balance.

Pre-Requisites

  • A basic understanding of Depreciation and Month End access
  • Computer literacy and keyboard proficiency is assumed

Curriculum

  • Asset Categories – categories and sub-categories
  • Management of Fixed Asset Master – additions and updates to existing assets manually or via user-defined imports
  • Depreciation – Overview of the depreciation methods available
  • Tax Calculations – wear and tear calculations and methods
  • Asset Disposals – calculate accounting profit/loss on sale/disposal, calculate tax profit/loss on sale/disposal
  • Monthly Depreciation Postings
  • Fixed Asset Journals – depreciation, addition and revaluation journals
  • Asset reporting and reconciliations
